A brand new interface has been developed on TheGenealogist.co.uk for all records in the Printed Books collection, and this has now
being launched across all Parish Records. You can now search across
all of the parishes in one county at once.
1. From the list provided, select the preferred county.
2. Enter your search terms. This can be just a surname, but you can also add a forename. The
search tool will locate the words entered within the book, so you could in fact enter other
keyword here such as an occupation or the maiden name of a bride.
3. Once you have submitted the search, matching results for the first parish will be
displayed. Click on one of these to open up the image viewer window.
4. The search will also be carried out across all the books in the selected county, so here
you’ll find the number of pages of results listed for the other parishes. Click
on any of the links shown to switch the default parish and view the available results.
Other Printed Books on TheGenealogist include Directories, School and University Registers, Will Indexes,
Landowner Records and Knights of England, which will all be updated to the new interface
over the coming months.

We are always interested in microfilm/microfiche of original
records, in particular parish records, Scottish census and electoral
registers.
Also, if you have old books (pre 1930) of parish record transcripts,
electoral registers, poll books and directories, let us know.
We have the latest scanning technology to allow us to photograph
loan books without damage.
We are happy to reward you for the loan of these items, simply
let us know what you have. We also have volunteer
transcribers who are waiting to help with these projects. If you
are interested in transcription work please visit www.UKindexer.co.uk. |
