BT 158, 159 & 160 - Births, Marriages and Deaths onboard
ships
We have now added Births, Marriages and Deaths onboard ships
to our Non-Conformist and Non-Parochial
Records.
These are registers compiled from ships' official logs of
births, deaths and
marriages of passengers at sea. The records range from
1854 to 1908 and include over 150,000
individuals, complete with images and full
transcript.
The Victoria Cross and Distinguished Service Order records
1857-1923
We have added to our Roll of Honour Transcripts, The
Victoria Cross and Distinguished Service Order records 1857-1923.
This online database includes nearly 25,000 biographical
records of officers, non-commissioned officers and men of his Majesty's
naval, military and air forces who have been awarded these decorations from
the time of their institution. They contain descriptions of the deeds and
services which won the distinctions and with many biographical, and other
details.
RG32: Registers Abroad and on British & Foreign Ships
1831-1969
Records from the General Register Office: Miscellaneous Foreign
Returns, 1831-1964 (RG 32) have been added to the online service.
The records contain documents relating to births, baptisms,
marriages, deaths and burials abroad, and on
British as well as foreign ships, of
British subjects, nationals of the
colonies, the Commonwealth and countries
under British jurisdiction. Events affecting some foreign
nationals are also included. Records consist mainly of certificates
issued by foreign registration authorities and copies of entries kept by
incumbents of English churches and missions, chaplains and burial
authorities. Many are in local languages and these have been
translated for this service. The records also contain documents
sent voluntarily by individuals to the Registrar General.
For the Second World War period some notifications of
deaths of members of the British armed services,
prisoners of war, civilians, internees and deaths through
aircraft lost in flight are included.
The records covering deaths in Japanese
and German prison internment camps include executions.
PCC Wills
We have added over 118,000 records to our PCC
Wills and probate records. This brings the total
number of records to over 580,000. The
wills are searchable by name, year
of will, year of probate, area and profession.
The search results also show the image of the original
record.

We have added over 24,000 individuals to our transcript
for Worcestershire, expanding our coverage
and bringing the total to over 455,000
individuals, with years ranging from:

We have added over 390,000 individuals
to our transcript for London, expanding
our coverage and bringing the total to over 475,000
individuals. These records include the marriage record for
Samuel Pepys (recorded as Samuell Peps),
and the burial record for Sir Walter Raleigh
(recorded with surname Rawleigh). The London records now
cover:
