COMPLETE 1851 Census Images for England

We have linked the original census page to each transcript record, for all English counties in 1851.

Simply complete a search on the county of your choice and when the transcription appears, click on the image of a census page at the end of the record.

Also, Census Transcripts and Indexes have been completed for the following counties; Flintshire 1841, Flintshire and Pembrokeshire for 1851, Warwickshire 1861 and Gloucestershire and Merionethshire for 1891.

Lancashire 1871 Census Transcript Complete

Lancashire 1871 index and transcript are complete, now with over 2.8 million records.

Census indices and transcripts have also been completed for Radnorshire 1841, Gloucestershire 1871, Norfolk 1891 and Surrey 1891.

Original census pages have been linked to the 1851 transcripts for Cornwall, Isle of Man and Staffordshire.

Completed 1861 and 1871 Census Coverage for Wales

We now have 1861 and 1871 census transcripts for all Welsh counties.

We have also added new data for other years including:

1841 census for Leicestershire and Northumberland,

1861 census for Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northumberland, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire,

1871 census for Northumberland, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Westmorland,

1891 census for Berkshire, Devonshire and Somerset.

Overseas Ancestors

If your ancestors were born, married or died overseas it can be difficult to find the relevant records and track them down.

The forces and government kept records of employees for such events and S&N have published these as a series of CDs entitled ‘Overseas Birth, Marriages and Deaths Records.’

Other resources we have include a list of teachers which includes those working overseas, and a list old Etonians who served in the Great War.
