What's New in 2014?
To start this year we have released newspapers,
army lists, air force lists and
directories. We also have some really exciting projects to tell
you about.
Three major new record sets to be released shortly
Next month we shall be releasing three new record sets, covering millions of new records,
including a new unique national pre-census resource.
New Search Interface
You’ll find that the master search on TheGenealogist is now optimised for your
device, whether it’s a PC, Tablet or Phone. Making it easy to research your family
tree wherever you are. When we redesigned the interface we also added some new features
that have been requested by you, including:
- "Exact match" has been added to let you exactly match your search terms
- Previously viewed or saved records will be indicated in search results
- We now list spouses in the result extracts so you can easily identify which results
you want to view
- You can now see a "Quick view" of a household before you view the record
(just mouse over the household icon).
- The research log has now been integrated into the master search to make it even
easier to see your saved records

Your family tree, always with you
February will also see the release of our new free family tree app for
iOS and Android devices, so you’ll always be able to access your family tree, even
when you don't have a connection to the internet! Features will include:
- A clear and easy interface
- Multiple tree designs to choose from
- Privacy Options: keep it just for yourself or share with family and friends
- Add and amend details easily and make notes from within the app

Help preserve our valuable past
Headstones nationwide are suffering from erosion, and burial grounds from closures for
new developments. We need to act now to preserve these crumbling records.
Join our new project where you can earn credits towards a subscription with
TheGenealogist or products from S&N Genealogy. All you need to do is photograph and
transcribe headstones from local churchyards and cemeteries.
