Secret Army: The British Resistance Organisations 1938-45
with Malcolm Atkin
It is not uncommon to find those who served in World War II to be very
reticent about telling their story - none more so than those who volunteered
for the various secret guerrilla organisations that were created to resist a
Nazi invasion of Britain. Many families never knew their stories. This
presentation outlines the remarkable multi-layered system that was put in
place, and the conflicts it entailed between SIS (MI6) and the War Office
over the roles of civilian and soldier in irregular warfare. |
