Parish Registers reveal Rupert Brooke's baptism

Rupert Brooke was a poet known for his idealistic war sonnets written during the First World War, especially "The Soldier". He was born in 1887 in the Warwickshire town of Rugby, where his father was a schoolmaster at the famous Public School and his mother a clergyman's daughter. With Europe's descent into war, his life would be cruelly cut short at the age of 27...
