1911 Census - nearly complete!
We have now released full transcripts for four more counties!
- Gloucestershire - over 726,000 records!
- Norfolk - over 486,000 records!
- Somerset - over 526,000 records!
- The Channel Islands - over 97,000 records!
These census records, only available to Diamond subscribers, are linked to
the original census images, so you can see your ancestor's handwriting on the original
census form that they completed.
The records have also been integrated into our existing search tools, so you
can access them using our House and Street search, Keyword Master search and Family
Forename search. |

A person's occupation defines a lot about who they are; this is particularly useful for
descendants trying to create a profile of their ancestors. Knowing what your predecessor
did for a living allows you to take a real glimpse of what their life would have been
like on a day to day basis.
We have added over 21,000 individuals to our Parish
Transcripts for Worcestershire in
partnership with Malvern Family History Society,expanding
our coverage and bringing the total to over 880,000 individuals.
With years ranging from 1700-1849. 
We have now added over 7.5 million records for our Birth
Transcripts, which now date back to 1920. This brings the total to over
68.4 million! These transcripts can be used with a tool that
lets you search
across all our Birth, Marriage and Death transcripts, with built in
SmartSearch technology, automatically showing partners full name where
available, and enabling you find potential parents from a birth,
potential children to a marriage and potential birth records from a death
record.
On the 7th of February 2012, we marked two hundred years since the birth of the author
Charles Dickens.
He was the publisher and editor of various journals, and published a number of novels,
including 'Great Expectations' and 'A Christmas Carol'. He also used his social status
for a number of charitable causes.
Included in the 1911 census releases this month is the famous actor Cary Grant, aged 7
and living with his parents in Bristol. The British born actor's family tree provides a
true rags to riches story, from poverty stricken origins in a Bristol
workhouse to the glamour and wealth of Hollywood.
