Autumn is here and with it the start of the new family history fair season,

These new records include the baptisms of William
Shakespeare's three children; Susanna, Hamnet &
Judith. You can find them with a

PCC Wills Index and Will Images
TheGenealogist.co.uk
has added to its PCC Wills and probate records. There are
now over 1 million records in the Prerogative
Court of Canterbury wills and probate collection, which covers
the years 1384 to January 1858.
 Following our Shakespeare theme this month, the new data
includes the complete will of William
Shakespeare himself in 1616, found under the name
of 'William Shackspeare'.
The records are copies of full registered wills,
which were written into volumes by the clerks at the church
courts. They are searchable by name, year of will, year of
probate, area and profession. The search results give a
printable image of the original record and a
summary. We now have nearly 250 years of
wills available. These will shortly be expanded to cover all
years. |
