In this issue's Article from the Archives, we
look at the first ever Olympics to be held in the UK. With the
Winter Olympics well underway in Pyeongchang, we look back at
Olympic Games from the early 1900s. When the organisers of the
Rome 1908 Olympics had to withdraw after Mount Vesuvius erupted
and devastated the city of Naples, the Olympics were instead
given to London and our Edwardian ancestors got to experience
the first ever Olympics to be held in the UK.
