There are three new software downloads available to purchase,
which give you different ways to see your family tree.
Map My Family Tree
Map My Family Tree automatically geocodes your family history
tree in seconds, so you can see where your ancestors were born,
married and died. Extensive selection and formatting options
provide unlimited customization of family maps. Show single
family lines, births only, events from a specific time period,
and much more on maps of any colour or size – including wall
maps. Map My Family Tree not only creates striking family maps,
but also helps you with your family history search. By creating
an ancestor life map, you can see where you have misspellings
and incomplete, ambiguous, or missing place names in your
genealogy database.
Genelines
Genelines timeline software lets you create seven customizable
timeline charts that display your family history records in a
refreshingly different way. By placing your family records
against a backdrop of a world events timeline, you can tell
amazing family stories in a powerful visual way that is not
possible using your genealogy database software alone. This
software does more than let you create colourful timeline
charts: it is also a powerful family research tool. These
timeline charts conveniently show you where you have duplicate,
illogical or contradictory data, or where you have gaps that
require further research.
3D Family Tree
The 3D Family Tree program gives you a whole new insight into
your roots. 3D Family Tree builds pedigree and descendant trees
in three dimensions. Photos of your relatives really make the
tree come alive. You can build the tree interactively by
clicking on a person, and adding ancestors and descendants. The
new trees are placed in parallel planes, in the third
dimension.

FFHS Really Useful Information Leaflet
The Federation of Family History Societies has now published the
2018 edition of its Really Useful Information Leaflet. The
leaflet is full of expert information on tracing your family
tree, with a long list of useful websites and tips on other
resources. It also gives contact details of all the FFHS's
friendly family history societies. They have over 170 members
with the local expertise that can really help grow your tree. As
well as all that, there's an interesting article written by
Helen Tovey from Family Tree, all about using archives.

Royal Babies - A Cause for Celebration!
A new Royal baby is a momentous occasion, providing a time of
great cheer for a nation. It's the same now as it was for our
ancestors many years ago, who would also enthusiastically
celebrate news of a Royal birth. A Royal baby often heralds the
start of a national celebration and is often an excuse for a
street party!
