The title of this book is somewhat misleading in that it does not refer to memorials in the accepted way but is a collection of articles relating to various people, places and historic events taking place in Devon. A really interesting and instructive book for those with an interest in the county of Devon.

The Priory of St. Peter and St Paul was founded as an Augustine establishment circa 1115 by William Gyffarde the Bishop of Winchester and has had a rich history which this excellent book describes fully. An excellent addition to the collection of anyone with an interest in the history of Taunton.
