St James, Lower Darwen was consecrated on 15 March 1829 and there is a large graveyard. This CD covers the period up to the end of 1995, a total of 1,171 gravestones and with the War Memorial includes over over 3,900 names.
The baptisms and burial are present in alphabetical order and date order from 1836
The CD contains a transcription of the MIs along with their images, a list of names taken from the gravestones in 1953 and a rapid transcription that is undated. The Church was built in 1819-21, at a cost of ?13,000 and it was consecrated on September 11th, 1821. It was demolished in 1976 and local Council are planning to build a road across the graveyard.
